Navigating the Dashboard

The Obvious dashboard is organized into three areas: a sidebar for navigating between your projects and workspace features, a chat panel where you talk to the agent, and a content area where your work appears. Once you know how each piece fits together, you can move through the dashboard quickly.

The sidebar

The sidebar runs along the left edge of your screen. At the top, the workspace name is a dropdown where you can manage members, open Settings, switch workspaces, or sign out. Below that, a + New button lets you create a project, and a search icon lets you find one quickly.

The sidebar is hidden by default. Select the icon with three horizontal lines at the top left to open it. Once open, you can pin it in place so it stays visible, or collapse it again when you need more room.

Below the top controls, the sidebar has a set of navigation items — Home, Projects, Templates, Skills, Meetings, Autobuild, and More. Not all items may be visible depending on your workspace.

Further down, your projects are organized into collapsible sections:

  • Favorites — Projects you've starred for quick access
  • Recent — Projects you've opened lately
  • Shared With Me — Projects others have given you access to

Select any project to open it.

Customizing the sidebar

Right-click any section header to open its options. Select Customize sidebar to control which items appear and in what order.

Select Sort by to choose how projects appear inside a section. The sort options are:

  • Alphabetical
  • Recent (default)
  • Priority
  • Due date

Each section keeps its own sort preference, so Favorites and Recent can each be sorted differently. You can also select Rename to rename a section or New section to add one.

The chat panel

When you open a project, the left side is the chat panel — where you talk to the agent, ask questions, and give instructions.

The input area at the bottom shows "What should we work on?" as a placeholder. Along the bottom of the input you'll find controls for attaching content (+), mentioning people (@), voice input, the / shortcut menu for saved prompts, and a mode selector for switching how the agent works. You can also expand chat to fullscreen using the icon at the top right of the panel.

The chat panel is resizable. Drag the divider between chat and the content area to adjust the split, or collapse chat entirely to give your content more room.

The content area

The right side of the dashboard is where your content appears — workbooks, documents, views, and everything else you create or open in a project.

Along the top of the content area runs a tab bar. Fixed tabs — Home, Drive, Tasks, and Activity — are always available. When you open an artifact it appears as an additional tab to the right. A + button lets you open more, and an overflow arrow appears when there are more tabs than fit on screen.

In the Drive, right-click any artifact to open its context menu with options to rename, duplicate, copy, move, and more.

The toolbar

The toolbar runs across the top of your workspace. From left to right you'll find the project name, search, presence avatars showing who else is in the project, Share to control access, and a menu for project-level actions like duplicating or deleting.

Getting around fast
