Explore Marketplace

The Explore Marketplace is where you browse, discover, and install community-published Skills, Tasks, Shortcuts, Artifact Templates, and Connector Presets — all in one place.
What's in the Marketplace
The Explore page organizes community content into five sections:
-
Skills — Reusable agent capabilities you can load into any thread. Filter by category, industry, or search by name.
-
Tasks & Routines — Pre-built multi-step workflows ready to install into your project.
-
Shortcuts — One-tap prompts you can run instantly in any thread. Displayed as a grid of compact cards.
-
Artifact Templates — Ready-made workbook, document, and other artifact blueprints you can drop into a project.
-
Connectors — Community-published connector presets that wire up third-party services to your workspace.
Each section supports browsing and one-click install. Community pages for individual items are also publicly accessible — you can share a link to any published primitive without the recipient needing to be logged in.
Browse and Filter
Open the Explore page from your sidebar. Each section loads its community content independently.
For Skills and Templates, you can narrow results using:
-
A search box for keyword matching
-
Category and industry filter dropdowns
-
A sort menu — choose from Most popular, Newest, Name (A–Z), Recently updated, or Top rated (by usage)
Active filters appear as removable chips below the filter row. Click × on any chip to remove it, or click Clear all to reset everything at once.
For Shortcuts and Tasks, items are displayed in a grid without filters. The first items shown reflect the most relevant community content.
For Connectors, each card shows the connected service's logo, name, and a brief description.
Install an Item
Each section has its own install action. What happens after you click depends on the type:
Skills
Click a skill card to open its public page, then click Install Skill. Obvious adds the skill to your library. Installed skills are immediately available to load in any thread.
Tasks
Click a task card to open its public page, then click Install Task. Obvious requires an open project to install a task — if you don't have a project open, you'll see a prompt to open one first. Installed tasks appear in the task drawer for that project.
Shortcuts
Click a shortcut card to open its public page, then click Install Shortcut. The shortcut is added to your personal library and appears in the / menu in any thread.
Artifact Templates
Click an artifact template card to open its public page, then click Use Template. Obvious creates a copy of the artifact in your current project.
Connectors
Click a connector card to open the install modal. Two tabs appear:
-
Connect — Initiates the OAuth flow for the service. Click Connect [service name] to authenticate. If the connector doesn't require OAuth, a message directs you to the Setup Guide tab instead.
-
Setup Guide — Displays step-by-step instructions for configuring the connector after connecting. This tab loads its content after you've connected.
Note: You need a project open to install Tasks. Skills, Shortcuts, Artifact Templates, and Connectors can be installed without an active project.
Publish Your Own Primitives
Any primitive you've built — a skill, task, shortcut, artifact template, or connector preset — can be published to the community marketplace.
Publish a Skill
-
Open the skill session you want to publish.
-
Click Publish to Explore from the skill options.
-
Fill in the publish form: Title (required), Summary / Description, Category, and Industry. Add optional tags by typing a tag and pressing Enter or ,.
-
Click Publish. Obvious makes your skill available in the Featured Skills section of Explore.
Publish a Task
-

-
Click the publish option.
-
Fill in the Title (required), Summary (required), Category, and Tags (comma-separated). Tags are automatically normalized to lowercase with hyphens.
-
Click Publish. A confirmation toast appears when the task is live.
Update Published Settings
For any primitive you've already published, you can update its public listing at any time:
-
Open the primitive and select Update Published Settings.
-
The settings panel shows fields for Title, Summary, Category, Description, Thumbnail URL, and Showcase Images.
-
Click the ✨ icon next to Summary or Description to generate AI-suggested copy based on your content.
-
Click View on Explore to preview your listing's public page.
-
Click Save. Changes are reflected immediately on the Explore listing.
Community Pages
Every published primitive has a public page at /explore/{type}/{publishId}. These pages are accessible without signing in, making them easy to share outside your workspace.
Public pages show the item's title, description, category, creator profile, install count, showcase images, and a CTA button to install or use the item. Visitors who aren't signed in are prompted to log in before installing.
Linked Primitives
Project templates published to the marketplace can bundle related marketplace primitives together. When a user creates a project from one of these templates, the linked Skills, Tasks, Shortcuts, Artifact Templates, and Connector Presets are surfaced alongside the template — making it easy to set up the complete workflow in one step.
Linked primitives appear on the project template's public community page.
Troubleshooting
The Explore sections aren't showing up. The marketplace is behind a feature flag. If you don't see the Skills, Tasks, Shortcuts, Artifact Templates, or Connectors sections, the feature may not be enabled for your workspace yet. Contact your workspace admin or reach out to help@obvious.ai to check your access.
Task install fails with "Please open a project." Tasks install into a specific project. Navigate to a project first, then return to Explore and try installing again.
Connector install modal shows "Connect" but redirects immediately. This is expected behavior — Obvious initiates the OAuth flow and hands off to the service's authentication page. Complete authentication there and you'll be returned to Obvious automatically.
My published changes aren't appearing on Explore. Updates to published settings reflect immediately. If you're not seeing changes, try a hard refresh (Cmd+Shift+R on Mac, Ctrl+Shift+R on Windows). If the issue persists, contact help@obvious.ai.
