What is the Explore page?
The Explore page is where you browse and use templates built by the Obvious community. Instead of starting every project from scratch, you can find a template that fits your use case — a CRM tracker, a content calendar, a research workbook — and spin up a new project from it in a single click.
You'll find templates for a wide range of workflows, built by verified creators, community members, and the Obvious team.
How to access Explore
Select Explore from the left sidebar. The compass icon marks it.
Note: Explore appears in your sidebar only when the feature flag is enabled for your workspace. If you don't see it, contact help@obvious.ai to request access.
Browsing templates
The Featured Templates section shows the full community template library. Templates load as a grid — each card shows a preview of what's inside.
What's on a template card
Each card shows:
-
Cover image or preview — a thumbnail of the template's contents, or a preview stack of the artifacts it includes
-
Title — the template name
-
Description — a brief summary of what the template is for (visible when you hover over the card)
-
Creator — a colored initials circle, the creator's abbreviated name, and a badge if they're a verified creator
The badge tells you who built it:
| Badge | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Verified badge | Creator has been verified by Obvious |
| Official | Template published by the Obvious team |
| No badge | Community-built template |
Filtering and searching templates
Use the controls above the grid to narrow things down.
To search by keyword:
Type in the Search templates... field. The grid updates as you type.
To filter by type, industry, category, or role:
Use the dropdown filters below the search bar. You can combine multiple filters — for example, filter by type Workbook and industry Finance at the same time.
Active filters appear as chips below the dropdowns. Click the × on any chip to remove that filter, or click Clear all to reset everything.
To change the sort order:
Click the sort button (the arrows icon) next to the search bar and choose from:
-
Most popular
-
Newest
-
Name (A–Z)
-
Recently updated
-
Top rated (by usage)
Using a template to start a new project
-
Find a template you want to use.
-
Click the card. Obvious opens the template detail page.
-
Click Get Template. A menu appears with two options:
-
Create project now — Obvious creates a new project pre-loaded with all the template's artifacts, sheets, and structure.
-
Save to my templates — adds the template to your workspace library for later use.
Your new project is independent — changes you make don't affect the original template or anyone else using it.
Exploring creators
Below the template grid, the Explore Creators section lists the people who build and publish templates on Obvious. Click any creator card to visit their profile and browse everything they've published.
