Downloading a project packages all your artifacts at once — workbooks, documents, and presentations — each in the format you choose. Obvious bundles everything into a single zip file, with each artifact available as CSV, Excel, PDF, Word, Markdown, PowerPoint, or HTML depending on its type.
Ask the Agent
You can ask the agent to do this for you — Export all sheets in this workbook as CSV — and it triggers the download flow for you.
Open the Export Modal
- Open the project you want to export from.
- Click the More options button in the project header, then click Download. The Download project modal appears with all exportable items listed.
Select What to Export
The modal lists every workbook, document, and presentation in your project. Files you've uploaded appear here too.
- Check the box next to each item you want to include. All exportable artifacts are selected by default.
- To select or deselect everything at once, use the checkbox in the header row.
The item count at the top updates as you toggle selections.
Choose Your Formats
Each item has a format dropdown on the right. Pick the format you need per item:
| Artifact type | Available formats |
|---|---|
| Workbook | Excel (.xlsx), CSV (.csv) |
| Document | PDF (.pdf), Word (.docx), Markdown (.md) |
| Presentation | PDF (.pdf), PowerPoint (.pptx), HTML (.html) |
To set the same format across all items at once, click Set all formats in the header row and pick a format. It applies to every artifact that supports it.
Note: Workbooks default to Excel. Documents and presentations default to PDF.
Download
- Click Download n selected at the bottom of the modal.
- If you have unsaved edits in any sheet, Obvious waits for those to save before starting the export.
- For a single item, the file downloads directly. For multiple items, Obvious packages everything into a .zip file. A progress indicator shows each item being processed.
- The .zip file downloads automatically when it's ready.
What's Inside the Zip
- Workbooks exported as CSV with multiple sheets get a subfolder — one .csv per sheet, named after the sheet.
- Workbooks exported as Excel produce a single .xlsx file with each sheet on its own tab.
- Documents and presentations export as individual files in whichever format you selected.
