Add a banner image to the top of any document for visual context — a project photo, a generated illustration, or your company logo.

Add a Cover Image with the Agent

The quickest way: ask the agent.

Add a cover image of a mountain landscape to this document.

The agent generates the image and sets it as your document's cover. Done in one message.

You can be as specific as you like with the prompt — describe colors, style, subject, mood. The agent handles the rest.

Add a Cover Image Manually

  1. Open the document you want to add a cover to.

  2. Click the menu in the document toolbar, then select Add cover image. The cover image modal opens.

  3. Choose how to add your image:

Upload

Drag and drop an image into the upload area, or click Choose file to select one from your computer. Supported formats: JPEG, PNG, GIF, and WebP. Maximum file size: 10 MB.

Paste an image URL into the field and click Load preview. The image loads from the external source.

Generate

Describe the image you want in the text area and click Generate Image. Obvious creates one based on your description. Not quite right? Click Regenerate with same prompt or adjust your description and generate again.

  1. Check the preview at the bottom of the modal. Click Add cover to apply it.

Reposition or Change a Cover Image

Hover over an existing cover image to reveal three options:

  • Change cover — swap it for a different image.

  • Reposition — drag the image up or down to adjust which part is visible.

  • Remove — delete the cover image entirely.
